  1. Call OnStar Customer Service and ask them to cancel your subscription. Dial  1-888-4-ONSTAR (1-888-466-7827) or contact the service center by pressing the blue button from the Onstar system. 
  2. Turn off your vehicle and open the trunk. 
  3. Remove the trunk liner and keep the spare tire aside. 
  4. Locate the sill plate secured by four screws. Take an adjustable screwdriver to remove those screws and place the sill plate aside. 
  5. Grab the shell of your vehicle’s right-side panel and gently pull it away. You should be able to locate the Onstar box with three connectors. 
  6. Unplug all three connectors by gripping them on the base. 
  7. Coil up the cables and store them for later. Reassemble everything back to your vehicle.  

The Onstar navigation system is deactivated. Now let’s discuss how many ways you can use Mylink navigation without Onstar. 

Chevy Mylink Navigation System:

  1. Open the Mylink app from your smartphone. You can also project your smartphone or other device on the car’s screen. 
  2. Locate and select the “Navigation” icon from your Mylink interface. 
  3. Enter your destination on the app. If you already have the destination saved, press on the Dest icon. And select the saved one by pressing the touch screen. 

The map will appear on the screen with the marked route. There should be a search bar on the screen to input more specific road or place names for better routing. You can even put pictures on the Mylink app of the road.
